Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter ranks up there as one of the best books I've read in my life. Ever. Admittedly, it appeals to a small audience, given its genre. It is a vampire book, but nothing like the popular Twilight series. This is a historical fiction book, with a twist of horror, some mystery, plenty of action, and small historical references that will make history geeks (particularly Civil War buffs) giddy with good-old-fashioned nerdy excitement when they figure it out.
Written by the author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, this book is supposedly the "real" story of our 16th president's life. It even includes photoshopped period pictures to back the argument.
This life was no picnic, mind you! Abe's life was chock-full of zombies. When his mother was killed by vampires at an early age, a young Lincoln took it upon himself to live a life devoted to slaying these blood-sucking demons of the night. Scary, funny, and bloody at times (sometimes all at once), the book is really great fun to read.
From when he first killed the vampire debt collector who was trying to take the family farm, the narrator follows Abe through his life and travels, essentially arguing that every action he made in real life was a result of vampires (and his hatred of them).
Retailing for around 18 dollars in hardcover, this book is worth every single penny, although not really for younger kids (ages 12 and up is okay, I'd say).
Now get off your lazy rump and go buy this book, time's 'a wastin'!
