The Paper Cut is a locally owned and operated paper based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. All of the stories inside are written by and for youth, for educational purposes and for mastery of literacy... Mastery of fun, too! Here at the Paper Cut, we strive to create a sense of community in this project, and also to show that young people can be creators - not just consumers - of the web.

Clara
Aside from being an utterly amazing baker of decadent pastries and cookies, the most up-and-coming new singer/songwriter, a connoisseur of the Twin Cities' finest espresso drinks, an avid writer for the Paper Cut, and a living, breathing, human GPS, Clara somehow finds time to be a junior in highschool. Once she graduates, Clara plans on hopping the next plane that will take her around the world.
Aaron
Now entering the 9th grade at Mounds Park Academy, Aaron is a very handsome, charming, witty, and modest fellow. He admits to being a history geek, and spends his time swimming, drawing, playing video games, making terrible puns, and biking. His favorite book is With the Old Breed, his favorite movie is Hot Fuzz, and his favorite beverage is Dr Pepper. Someday, he wishes to acquire a really sweet British accent.
Rose
Rose is a homeschooled high school sophomore who currently resides in St. Paul, MN. But even though she doesn't have to walk out the front door to get to class, Rosie still keeps busy with lots of activities. Her free time is mostly consumed by drawing, practicing her pirouettes in ballet, writing multiple novels simultaneously, singing as a first soprano in an all-girls choir, and dreaming about her future career with NASA (which presumably would make her the very first drawing-singing-author-ballerina-astronaut.)
Maggie
Maggie is a self-proclaimed lover of chocolate and coffee, which are (quite thankfully) two things which are quite abundantly present in Costa Rica, where she currently resides. Maggie studies Advertising Design at Universidad Veritas in San José and just recently rode on a skateboard for the very first time. She now has a very bruised knee.
Kip
Kip Hathaway is tall. He is also very thin. Added to this, he has very long arms. You may compare him to a tree, or a beanpole, if you like. His inspiration for writing is his mother, because she told him to do it.
Jordan
Jordan is double majoring in Political Science and Asian Studies (with a Chinese studies emphasis) as a sophomore at St. Olaf College. A sophisticated fellow with a taste for the refined and exotic, Jordan always manages to find time to participate in fantastic adventures and the occasional article for The Paper Cut.
Etty
Etty thinks her current title of Managing Editor of The Paper Cut sounds really official. She also thinks it's really fun! Another title she would like to acquire one day is Her Royal Highness, but if that doesn't fly she will be quite satisfied to live out her days riding horseback on the shores of the breathtaking Icelandic Laplands whilst the melodies of Sigur Ròs fill her ears...
Liz
When she's not studying or writing papers, Liz enjoys reading, driving with the windows down, and watching the MTV2 show Silent Library. She will eat anything with peanut butter in it and particularly enjoys adding the nutty spread to vanilla ice cream, which she then eats while watching scary movies.
Ruth
Going into 8th grade at Capitol Hill Junior High School, Ruth is an experienced writer. During the summer, she spends her time writing paper letters, trolling, volunteering at the Como Zoo, and causing mischief. She enjoys the study of internet memes (more can be learned here).
